About Department

B.Sc. Mathematics was introduced in 1984, which led to the establishment of the Department of Mathematics. The M.Sc. Mathematics programme was added to the Department in 1993, and the M.Phil. programme began in 2007 Undergraduate and graduate programmes are both offered by the department. With a faculty of 7, the Department has the capacity to incorporate both hands-on learning and research into all programmes. A comprehensive and diverse graduate mathematics curriculum is provided by the mathematics department. The student is prepared for a career in teaching and research in the mathematical sciences and their applications through coursework and the research project process. The department's course offerings are divided into the following broad categories: Algebra and Number Theory, Complex Analysis, Fuzzy set theory, Numerical Methods, Ordinary Differential Equations and Partial Differential Equations, Real and Functional Analysis, Statistics, Probability, and Topology. Every year, first-year undergrad courses are taught in all fields, with enrollment ranging from 20 to 48 students on average. Every year, each discipline offers first-year postgraduate courses, with an average enrollment of 10–25 students. In these classes, students learn the fundamental skills required for applied math work and mathematical research.
